China's Ambassador to the United Kingdom Zheng Zeguang made a visit to Aberdeen, Scotland, on Friday and Saturday, where he called for stronger China-UK mutually beneficial cooperation, as China deepens reform to advance modernization.

During his meeting on Friday with the Depute Provost of Aberdeen Steve Delaney and co-leaders of Aberdeen City Council Christian Allard and Ian Yuill, Zheng said China will continue to bring fresh opportunities to countries worldwide, including the UK.

As the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China concluded in July, Zheng highlighted that the resolution adopted of more than 300 reform measures will further invigorate society, promote high-quality development, and expand high-standard opening-up, thus benefiting the world.

Zheng pointed out that China and Aberdeen have broad cooperation potential and prospects in areas including energy transition, low-carbon development, economy and trade, education, tourism, and more.

Aberdeen, which is located in northeast Scotland, is the third most populous Scottish city. The discovery of North Sea oil spurred the development of the oil industry, making it a major component of the city's economy, alongside shipping, deep-sea fishing, agriculture, and other sectors.
