Notion Solutions annouces Team System eTraining
I am now able to talk about what I have been working on for the past few months for my company, Notion Solutions. As readers of my blog know, I've been working for Notion for about a year now, and we focus on helping customers get the most out of Team System through consulting and training.
Today I'm excited to announce our new product, Notion eTraining. Our eTraining is an online Team System training course. Our goal with our eTraining is to provide Visual Studio Team System training in a format that would be easily comsumable for students, and allow them to learn at their own pace, without having to travel for training, or have a trainer come on-site. You have videos you watch to learn the concepts, and then Hands-On labs to help drive those concepts home.
The labs access our training servers, so you do not have to have Team Foundation Server installed yourself. In fact, all you need to do is download the trial versions of the Microsoft software (such as Visual Studio Team Suite), and you are ready to go.
The way the class works is relatively simple. You can take the two week or the four week version. Each day, you will have videos you watch to help learn the concepts for that day. You will also have labs that you work through to reinforce those concepts. So far, it sounds like most Computer Based Training. But there is more to it than that.
If you get stuck, or have problems or questions, Notion will leading several Live Meeting conference calls every week to help the students. A Notion expert will be available to answer any questions you have. You can think of this as a college professor's "office hours". You can come if you have a question, but you don't have to. And by using Live Meeting, the instructor will not only be able to answer your questions, but actually demo the answer for you if appropriate.
Our current eTraining course is our VSTS Overview course. This course touches on all aspects of Team System. You can view an outline of the course, with a list of topics, at our eTraining FAQ. The FAQ also contains pricing and signup information.
