Grant Holliday, a Team System MVP, has just announced the world's first commercial hosted Team Foundation Server provider:

Finally, we're able to announce the project that I've been working on for the past few months.

Readify are proud to be the world's first commercial hosted team foundation server provider.

TFS Now

It looks to me like a very interesting idea.  If you are interested in using Team Foundation Server, but have not been able to install it and run it for whatever reason, now you can.  All you need is Visual Studio and Team Explorer.

Their Tour page provides some reasons you might want to try their service.  One thing I found interesting was they offer you the ability to migrate to your own server infrastructure, if you ever deploy TFS internally.  I'd be interested in knowing more about how they do that.  Is it a SQL backup?  Are they going to use the migration toolkit?  Do they retrieve all your historical data?

Here is the benefits page.  It describes some of the pricing.

Another question I have:  Are they running TFS over its default port, or on port 80?  I was just wondering about some companies who really lock down external access.

Overall, I like the idea, and if you are interested in using hosted solutions and Team Foundation Server, I would check it out, cause it is currently the only game in town.  I've subscribed to their blog feed, so as I get more information, I'll pass it along.

Give me your thoughts in the comments below.
