Regardless of how the international landscape evolves, China remains committed to its original aspiration of upholding its friendship with Kazakhstan, President Xi Jinping said in talks with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the Presidential Palace in Astana, Kazakhstan's capital, on Wednesday.

Also, Beijing stays true to its resolve to advance cooperation across the board, to its determination to continue mutual support on issues concerning each other's core interests, and to its confidence in both countries realizing their development goals, he added.

During the talks, Xi expressed his readiness to work with Tokayev to jointly build a more substantive and dynamic China-Kazakhstan community with a shared future, and inject more positive energy to the development and stability of the region and beyond.

Xi pointed out that he was delighted to visit beautiful Kazakhstan, noting that during this visit, he felt in person the ever-growing momentum of the Central Asian country.

He said he believes that under Tokayev's leadership, the people of Kazakhstan will succeed in building a prosperous and strong New Kazakhstan.

The friendly relations between China and Kazakhstan are rooted in the ancient Silk Road, reinforced by 32 years of cooperation since the start of diplomatic relations, and have reached the high level of a permanent comprehensive strategic partnership, Xi noted.

Relations between China and Kazakhstan are defined by lasting friendship, a high degree of mutual trust and sharing weal and woe, he added.
