Beijing has commended Havana's efforts to counter terrorism and called on Washington to lift all its sanctions on Cuba.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning made the remark on Wednesday, commenting on the United States' recent removal of Cuba from a list of countries it accuses of "not fully cooperating" with it to counter-terrorism.
Cuba is still on the US list of "State Sponsors of Terrorism".
Citing Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, Mao said: "The US has admitted what is known to all: Cuba collaborates fully with efforts against terrorism."
"China commends Cuba's counter-terrorism efforts, and firmly opposes the US interfering in Cuba's internal affairs and imposing political oppression and economic sanctions on Cuba in the name of counter-terrorism," Mao said.
Mao called on Washington to handle its ties with Havana according to the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations and norms guiding international relations, and solve its differences with Havana through dialogue and consultation.
